Torres Strait Air signs deal to convert aircrafts to hydrogen and enable zero-emission aviation in Australia

Cranfield Aerospace Solutions (CAeS) and MONTE Aircraft Leasing have signed a three-party agreement with Torres Strait Air to establish hydrogen-powered flight in Australia.

The Australian air charter company will work with CAeS and MONTE to convert up to 10 Britten-Norman Islander aircrafts to hydrogen-electric power.

MONTE will provide financing to Torres Strait Air for the conversion of the existing aircraft, with CAeS integrating its hydrogen-electric propulsion system technology into it.
