TotalEnergies, GTT, LMG Marin, Bureau Veritas to develop large-scale liquid hydrogen carrier vessel

TotalEnergies, GTT, LMG Marin and Bureau Veritas are set to develop a large-scale liquid hydrogen carrier concept design.

Having signed an agreement for a joint development project (JDP), the partners have set out to develop a ship with capacity to carry 150,000m3 of liquid hydrogen to overcome transport challenges.

TotalEnergies is set to work on defining the vessel’s specifications including operational profile; while GTT will design the membrane containment system; and  LMG will define the concept design of the carrier adapted to Total’s specifications.
