Toyoda Gosei’s high-pressure hydrogen tanks to power Japanese vessel

A hydrogen-powered ship is set to use Toyoda Gosei’s high-pressure tanks when it begins operations this month (April).

The hydrogen solutions further utilise Toyoda and Toyota Motor Corporation’s hydrogen storage technology used within the Mirai fuel cell vehicle, which has also been used in light-duty trucks.

The Mitsui OSK Lines backed MOTENA-Sea will operate the hydrogen-powered vessel, the HANARIA, which will be equipped with both fuel cells and biodiesel fuelled generators.
