Toyota unveils Crown Sedan FCEV in Japan

Toyota Motor Corporation has unveiled its new Crown Sedan model in Japan – complete with a first FCEV version – ahead of its official launch on November 13.

In addition to the value required for chauffeur-driven vehicles, such as quietness and environmental considerations, Toyota says it has achieved ‘acceleration performance and a fun driving experience that only FCEVs can provide’. The price tag for the FCEV version is JPY8,300,000 ($55,438).

The model contains the same performance fuel-cell system as the Mirai. Equipped with three high-pressure hydrogen tanks and fuel cells, it is possible to drive around 820km per three-minute hydrogen refill. The FCEV is complemented by a hybrid electric vehicle (HEV).
