Two Hyzon Motors’ hydrogen-powered FCEVs set to be trialled in New Zealand

New Zealand’s largest heavy-duty fleet owner, TR Group is set to trial two Hyzon Motors hydrogen-powered, fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEV), with an option for a further 18.

Each vehicle will use Hyzon’s single stack 200kW fuel cell system, with the agreement beginning with a commercial trial in March 2024 and set to be deployed for up to three months.

Following the commercial trials, TR Group has the option to purchase the two trial trucks and to uplift another 18 trucks with the 200kW fuel cell system to be assembled at Hyzon’s Melbourne, Australia facility.
