UAE to build first electrolyser plant in new industrial drive

The UAE is to build its first electrolyser plant as part of new impetus behind hydrogen and renewed domestic industrial drive.

Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has struck deals with more than 60 UAE-based and international companies to locally manufacture critical non-oil products in its supply chain.

The new agreements bring ADNOC closer to its target to locally manufacture AED70bn ($19bn) worth of products in its procurement pipeline which was announced at the last Make it in the Emirates forum in June 2022.

An additional $2.7bn of offtake agreements had been made in the UAE’s industrial sector, taking the total value of products targeted for localisation to $32bn.
