Uniper voices concerns over subsidy hurdles and grid costs at World Hydrogen Summit

Subsidy application processes are preventing the hydrogen industry from delivering timely projects, according to Christian Stuckmann, Vice-President Business Development Hydrogen at Uniper Hydrogen.

Speaking on a panel session at the World Hydrogen Summit in Rotterdam, Stuckmann said, “We should not be here to write funding applications. We should be here to take FIDs (final investment decisions) and deliver projects and move onto the next one.”

The Uniper Hydrogen executive suggested complex subsidy applications were taking company effort and resources away from actually developing projects.
