Viscofan to replace natural gas with green hydrogen in its boilers following successful tests

Spanish-based Viscofan has revealed that it has successfully conducted tests that paves the way to replace natural gas with green hydrogen in one of its boilers in a production plant in Cáseda, Spain.

For the test, a temporal installation of two hydrogen semitrailers, each with a capacity of around 4,000 Nm3 of compressed hydrogen at 200 bar, allowed the partial substitution of the natural gas for hydrogen.

Increasing flows of 400 Nm3/h were also used.
