What Herøya opening means for Nel – and for green hydrogen

One week since Nel announced the official opening of its fully automated electrolyser production facility in Herøya, Norway, H2 View looks at what the ‘world first’ means for both the company and the momentum in green hydrogen.

The facility coming on-stream is something of a jewel in the crown for Nel, the famously purple-branded pure player in hydrogen solutions.

It’s been a project in-the-making for a number of years and it’s official opening on 20th April represents a long-awaited breakthrough for the company, bringing a current production capacity of 500MW into the fold.
