White Logistics agree to roll out HVS’ heavy-duty trucks into its fleet operations

White Logistics are set to explore the use of Hydrogen Vehicle Systems’ (HVS) trucks via trial runs within its fleet.

Under a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), White Logistics can collaborate with HVS on all aspects of hydrogen electric vehicle technology, infrastructure and refuelling equipment, and share operational data to ensure successful trial introductions.

HVS’ heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) will be integrated into White Logistics fleet of over 150 delivery vehicles and trailers. The company provides warehouse, storage and logistics solutions to businesses in the UK and is now aiming to decarbonise.

White Logistics’ CEO, Graeme White, said the company’s pride is built upon its “modern fleet that is optimised for mileage and environmental efficiencies whilst always meeting the needs of [its] customers.”

He added, “We are exploring the latest developments in alternative fuels and are very excited about working with HVS to understand how hydrogen fuel cell vehicles will support us in our Net Zero ambitions.”

HVS’ HGVs have been undertaking test trials and they recently achieved a significant milestone, successfully towing a trailer at the high-speed track at UTAC in Milbrook.

Speaking to H2 View, John McLeister, Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) at HVS explained how the company will move through the next phases and into collaboration with customers.

He said, “We will complete our test programme, move through the various phases of testing and work closely with Mannok and the rest of our customers to implement, what we called, our transition to zero programme.

“That is an opportunity for us to showcase the capability of our business. So, we will have the truck that has been tested and then sent to a number of our customers to conduct their normal daily duty cycle with normal loads.

“I want to see unmistakably zero emissions, unmistakably HVS,” added McLeister.
