Worley to provide service support for Shell’s 200MW hydrogen project

Worley has been awarded renewable hydrogen project services by Shell to support the delivery of its Holland Hydrogen 1 (HH1) project.

Located in the Port of Rotterdam, the Netherlands, HH1 will see a 200MW electrolyser powered by an offshore wind farm produce up to 60,000kg of hydrogen per day.

Under the service contract, Worley will provide design and procurement, and construction management support services including the important integration required with key vendors and other assets, such as offshore wind, pipelines and electrical grids.

Hydrogen produced by HH1 will be initially used at Shell’s Energy and Chemicals Park in Rotterdam to partially decarbonise the production of fossil fuels and support the industrial use of hydrogen in the heavy transportation industry.
