Wrightbus to utilise Ballard hydrogen fuel cell engines in UK and Germany

Ballard Power Systems will deliver 70 FCmove® HD hydrogen fuel cell engines to zero-emission bus developer Wrightbus.

Following multiple purchase orders, Ballard will deliver the solution this year, whilst the hydrogen-powered single and double-decker buses are expected to enter services in 2025.

H2 View understands that the vehicles will be deployed in the UK and Germany. Just last year (2023), Wrightbus agreed to provide 54 buses to UK-based Go-Ahead Group following a £30m ($37.8m) investment.
