ZeroAvia technical study confirms feasibility of hydrogen-electric regional jets

ZeroAvia has revealed its identified clear applications for hydrogen-electric, zero-emission propulsion for regional jet aircraft.

The company undertook an initial technical study alongside Type Certificate holder MHIRJ throughout the past year, which is an entry-point for a CRJ 700 retrofit with ZeroAvia’s ZA 2000RJ powertrain.

The first phase technical study confirmed maximum take-off weight, centre of gravity and structural allowances identified, and also validated the retrofit approach for other-in service CRJ series aircraft.
