The US Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management has awarded two projects more than $12m to develop and test key components required for high hydrogen combustion.
Announced yesterday (May 25), the two projects from GE Gas Power will develop and test components with a 100% hydrogen fuel steam in gas turbines.
Research from the projects will study the application of hydrogen components to create a substantial increase in power plant efficiency.
