Blue and green hydrogen priority for Net Zero, says new report

Blue and green hydrogen have been identified as global innovation priorities across hydrocarbon basins to achieve the Paris Agreement’s emissions targets and create integrated Net Zero energy systems says the Net Zero Technology Centre (NZTC).

The Closing the Gap: A Global Perspective report priorities five international collaboration actions to accelerate technology innovation and deployment internationally and achieve Net Zero as quickly, efficiently and affordably as possible.

In addition to hydrogen, the report found that offshore wind, oil and gas electrification, and digital transformation technologies are priorities in achieving global Net Zero targets.

Established by 12 technology and research institutions from Japan, Egypt, the Netherlands, US, Australia, Canada, Brazil and the UK, the report calls states:
