BOC gears up for second phase of Industrial Fuel Switching trials

In June (2023), BOC UK and Ireland announced it will supply hydrogen to six selected projects as part of phase two of the Industrial Fuel Switching (IFS) demonstration, led by the UK Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ).

As part of phase one of the trials, BOC successfully delivered large scale hydrogen fuel switching demonstrations for projects with NSG Pilkington, Tarmac, and Hanson and Unilever.

In the IFS trials’ second phase, BOC will support the demonstration of fuel switching solutions for industrial processes on more sites. The company will also provide gas pressure control technology and supply hydrogen for the range of industrial processes selected, such as recycling aluminium, and sites producing clay products, cereals and tissue paper across the UK.
