CB&I secures AiP for liquid hydrogen cargo containment system

CB&I has received an Approval in Principle (AiP) for the design of a liquid hydrogen cargo containment system from DNV.

The McDermott storage business has collaborated with Shell International Trading and Shipping Company to provide safe liquid hydrogen shipping solutions to enable hydrogen energy supply chains.

The AiP will confirm that the containment system is aligned with applicable safety standards, such as class rules, the International Code for the Construction and Equipment of Ships Carrying Liquefied Gases in Bulk (IGC Code), along with others.
