Ceres and Alma to explore opportunity for solid oxide technology in marine

Ceres and Alma Clean Power have announced a collaboration to utilise hydrogen solid oxide technology in the maritime industry.

By combining Ceres’ solid oxide technology with Alma’s expertise in maritime system development, the two companies will demonstrate an 80kW liquid natural gas (LNG) fuelled system in 2024.

Ceres will provide solid oxide fuel cell stacks for the development and validation of the fuel cell system, while Alma will develop and build the 80kW system that will be tested in Stord, Norway, before being transferred to a vessel for further testing.
