China targets 200,000 tonnes of green hydrogen production annually by 2025; Releases hydrogen roadmap for 2025 to 2035

China is aiming to situate itself as a powerhouse for hydrogen production in the coming years with the country releasing a 2025 to 2035 roadmap for the clean energy carrier targeting 200,000 tonnes of green hydrogen production annually by 2025.

Released by the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration, the hydrogen strategy will maintain China’s leadership status in hydrogen technologies and expand on its already “world leading” 33 million tonne production output.
