CIP ties up with Evergreen on hydrogen-based marine fuel production in Taiwan

Taiwanese shipping firm Evergreen Marine Corporation has teamed up with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) to explore the production and use of hydrogen-based e-fuels for maritime.

Operating over 200 container vessels globally, Evergreen is among the biggest container shipping companies in the world. The pair will explore producing e-fuels including ammonia and e-methanol in Taiwan to supply its fleet.

CIP, which signed the agreement on behalf of its Energy Transition Fund (ETF), is currently constructing and developing several offshore wind farms in the region to facilitate the production of such fuels.
