CMB.TECH opens workshop for truck conversion to run on hydrogen dual-fuel

Belgian-based, CMB.TECH has announced the opening of a new workshop to convert new trucks to run on dual-fuel hydrogen technology, which it says can reduce traditional fuel usage and associated emissions by up to 80%.

With capacity to convert up to 20 trucks per month, the new workshop will convert new internal combustion engine (ICE) trucks to run on CMB’s dual-fuel technology, which sees hydrogen aspirated into the engine’s combustion chamber, requiring less diesel injection to power the engine.

The conversion process see the mounting of hydrogen tanks on the trucks, the installation of the company’s injection ring on the engine, a new engine control unit installed, followed by quality control and validation.
