The Hydrogen Americas Summit in Washington DC, US, hosted by Sustainable Energy Council (SEC) and the US Department of Energy (DOE), has today (October 10), heard that industry collaboration will be key to reducing the cost of hydrogen.
In the Summit’s second session, Accelerating New Breakthrough Technologies & Lowering Costs, the delegation heard from key players within the hydrogen production sphere who sought out to tackle one of the most significant challenges in realising hydrogen’s full potential.
Across the panel, there was a sense of agreement that standardisation, integration, and collaboration will play a dramatic role in the cost reduction of hydrogen for end-users.
Rick Beuttel, Vice-President Hydrogen Business at Bloom Energy explained that aside from just scaling technologies, partnerships and processes would make up an integral part of the development of the industry.
