Element 1 and NEXA to enter methanol-to-hydrogen generation technology into the aviation industry

Element 1 (e1) and NEXA Capital Partners have announced a joint venture (JV) to commercialise e1’s proprietary methanol-to-hydrogen generation technology.

The JV, dubbed Hydrogen Aviation Development Company (HADC), is an energy company designed to commercialise the technology for fuel cell applications in the aerospace sector.

This will include grid independent charging of electric aircraft, grid independent charging of airport equipment, service vehicles and airport based rental cars, and hydrogen refuelling for fuel cell aircraft and ground vehicles at airports.
