GH Power produces hydrogen from recycled aluminium and water

Canadian-based GH Power says it has made a breakthrough producing in hydrogen from recycled aluminium and water via an exothermic reaction, which could be cheaper than electrolysis.

Using a 2MW exothermic reactor, GH Power was able to produce alumina and exothermic heat in addition to hydrogen with recycled aluminium and water being the only inputs.

According to the company, its reactor is self-sustaining, zero-emissions and modular, allowing it to be assembled on site to power industries with clean energy while being cost competitive with fossil fuels.
