Sweden’s H2 Green Steel has announced plans to expand its green hydrogen capabilities beyond steel and iron to decarbonise shipping.
The innovative steel producer and its compatriot shipping company Gotland Company have signed an agreement to explore the possibility of establishing a green hydrogen production plant with capacity to supply part of Gotland’s fleet with green hydrogen.
Currently in construction of a green steel plant featuring 700MW of green hydrogen production capacity in Boden, Sweden, H2 Green Steel hopes to leverage experience from preparatory work to explore the production of green fuels for shipping.
