H2 View’s North America Hydrogen Summit asks, where could North America’s next hydrogen hub be?

H2 View’s North America Hydrogen Summit looked ahead to where the hydrogen hubs of the future could be during the second session of the day, Hydrogen Hubs: Emerging.

With the state of New York having unveiled plans to develop the state into a green hydrogen hub with a bid to grab a share of federal funding, Devinder Mahajan, Director of the Institute of Gas and Technology at Stony Brook University kicked off the session.

Mahajan explained that recent movement in the state is lining up the pathway for hydrogen hub. He said, “The hydrogen hub coordinator is New York State Energy Research and Development Authority. Last month they had over 40 organisations sign NDAs.

“We still have to deal with hard to electrify and hard decarbonise sectors, which is actually spilling over into a case for a hydrogen hub in New York.”
