Hydrogen flight corridor to be established between Hamburg and Rotterdam

A hydrogen flight corridor collaboration has been announced between Hamburg, Germany, and Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

At the 2023 Paris Air Show, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Hamburg Airport (HAM), Rotterdam The Hague Airport (RTHA), Rotterdam The Hague Innovation Airport and Hamburg Aviation to explore the viability of a hydrogen route between the two cities.

The organisations view 2026 as a guideline date for the first flight of hydrogen aircraft on the Hamburg-Rotterdam route, with the parties envisioning commercial flights between RTHA and HAM moving forward.
