Lhyfe is exploring ocean reoxygenation from offshore green hydrogen production by-product

France’s Lhyfe is working to reoxygenate oceans using by-product oxygen from its offshore green hydrogen production.

Lhyfe’s Oxygenation Advisor, Patricia Handmann, noted the decline of dissolved oxygen levels in global oceans, which provide around 50% of Earth’s oxygen, as a result of ocean warming and nutrient pollution

In a bid to combat that decline, Lhyfe is looking to return by-product oxygen from its offshore green hydrogen production to oceans to support its reliance and/or restore the functioning marine ecosystems.
