Malaysia’s Government has launched its Hydrogen Economy & Technology Roadmap (HETR) with a focus on developing firm regulatory conditions, subsidies and building a talent pool.
While hydrogen’s use as a fuel is still in its infancy in Malaysia, the cost of production remains high, while difficulties related to its transport and storage are still of concern, in addition, clear legal and regulatory framework remains out of play.
The HETR recognises the above challenges and sets out three goals to develop the country’s hydrogen economy:
