Metso launches hydrogen-powered iron ore pelletising burner

Finnish-based Metso has launched a hydrogen variant of its low NOx burners for its pelletising plant product range offering a low-carbon solution for iron ore pellet production.

The Ferroflame™ LowNox burner, designed especially for the travelling grate pelletising plants, is said to be the first of its kind to run on hydrogen.

Pelletising is the process where iron ore fines are transformed into an agglomerated form or iron pellets, making it suitable for use in steel mills.
