New Californian hydrogen strategy put forward by Governor Newsom

The Governor of California Gavin Newsom has urged the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz) to develop California’s Hydrogen Market Development Strategy.

The new strategy will employ an all-of-government approach to build up California’s clean, renewable hydrogen market and it will closely resemble the Zero-Emission Vehicle Market Development Strategy to help California advance the energy transition.

The strategy will expand the market for renewable hydrogen that’s key to achieving California climate goals and will support the state in its Hydrogen Hub programme, which will leverage $8bn from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to establish at least four hydrogen hubs across the US.
