Nikola announces new CEO following resignation

Hydrogen-powered truck manufacturer Nikola Corporation has announced the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

The company has revealed former CEO Michael Lohscheller will step down as President and CEO, with Steve Girsky, Chairman of the Board since 2020 named as the incoming CEO.

Lohscheller will leave immediately and as a member of the Board of Directors effective as of August 31, 2023, due to ‘family health matter and will be returning to Europe.’ He will remain in an advisory capacity until September to support the transition.

Girsky will bring to the role more than 30 years of experience working with corporate board executives, labour leaders, OEM leaders, suppliers, dealers and national policymakers.
