Policy Pillar webinar: Carbon will have a role to play in future power generation

In the H2 View Power Pillar Special webinar a panel of three industry leaders discussed the role hydrogen will play in sustainable industrial facilities of the future.

The webinar, sponsored by Hexagon, heard from Peter Wilson, Hexagon Executive Consultant, Jaco Reijerkerk, Commercial Director of Ekinetix, and Glenn Davies, Group CEO of Australian company Patriot Hydrogen.

Wilson began by outlining the key issues facing the energy industry, one being the 2022 invasion of Ukraine by Russia, causing turmoil throughout Europe’s power industry, and other areas worldwide, through secondary consequences such as restrictions on the movement of grain.

Consequently, globally agreed targets for carbon emissions are unlikely to be met by 2030, with consumers being hit with high energy price increases and decommissioned fossil fuelled power plants being pulled back into service.
