Real life trials begin on First Hydrogen’s FCEVs in Aberdeen

SSE has begun trials on First Hydrogen’s fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) powered by hydrogen taking place in real life settings.

Four SSE drivers have used the light commercial vehicle (LCV) to carry equipment and tools which play a part in an engineer’s day-to-day job, evaluating the benefits of hydrogen mobility alongside SSE’s growing fleet of EV engineering and maintenance vehicles.

The vehicle will be monitored throughout the trials via onboard technology, supporting First Hydrogen engineers to understand its fuel consumption, mileage and vehicle performance in different conditions. It also allows them to track the vehicle’s use, location and status in real-time.
