Basque-Country, Spain, to gain its first electrolyser for hydrogen production

With hydrogen production at the forefront of Repsol’s decarbonisation targets, the company is set to install the first electrolyser in the Basque-Country, Spain, the company said.

In addition to the electrolyser, Repsol will also construct the necessary infrastructures for the use and distribution of renewable hydrogen.

An investment of €8.9m ($10.43m) has been made with the 2.5MW capacity electrolyser expected to come into operation in the second half of 2022 and will support decarbonisation of Petronor’s refinery.
