Sembcorp and Indonesian utility to explore green hydrogen production for export

Sembcorp Utilities and Indonesian state-owned utility PT PLN are set to explore green hydrogen production in Indonesia for export to Singapore.

With a potential 100,000-tonne-per-year green hydrogen facility that would use local renewable energy, under the plans, the energy carrier would be exported vis a subsea pipeline.

Anticipated to be Indonesia’s first green hydrogen export project to Singapore, it comes as both companies look to develop a low-carbon hydrogen supply chain in the region.
