Smoltek granted patent project designed to support PEM electrolysers

Swedish company Smoltek has announced it has been granted a new patent for a project supporting the production of green hydrogen.

The Electro Catalyst Support patent will affect how Smoltek’s core technology in electrochemical cells is used, showcasing how it can decrease the amount of iridium catalyst load in PEM water electrolysers and increase the output per area of cell.

The announcement brings Smoltek’s IP portfolio up to 80 patents, with the Electro Catalyst Support patent family covering electrolysers and the method for producing a catalyst supported on nanostructure.
