SoCalGas supports hydrogen-powered marine developments

Southern California Gas (SoCalGas) is supporting the development of hydrogen-powered marine vessels that could transform the marine industry in California.

The company on Tuesday (28th April) said it would provide $200,000 in funding for Zero Emission Industries’ (ZEI) latest project, the development of a hydrogen-powered harbour craft.

Formerly Golden Gate Zero Emission Marine, ZEI said the harbour craft powertrain will consist of a state-of-the-art hydrogen storage system, fuel cell package, power system, safety system, control and automation system allowing for a powertrain with increased range, simple maintenance, and no emissions.
