Norwegian state owned hydropower company, Statkraft, has today (October 11) announced plans to convert a former Royal Navy Armament Depot in Pembrokeshire, Wales, UK into a hydrogen hot spot.
Dubbed the Trecwn Green Energy Hub, the project comes as the company’s first UK-based green hydrogen project, planning to produce approximately three tonnes of green hydrogen per day.
Hydrogen produced at the Trecwn site is intended to be used to power trains running on railway lines west of Swansea, offering a zero-carbon alternative, while reducing infrastructure investments compared to full electrification.
