Universal Hydrogen and JBT AeroTech collaborate to enable decarbonisation of airports

Universal Hydrogen has signed a joint development agreement with JBT AeroTech for the design and development of a hydrogen fuel cell-powered battery charger for airports.

JBT AeroTech, a provider of airport ground support equipment (GSE), will use the mobile battery charger, H2AmpCart™, for existing electrified airport GSE and enable the transition away from diesel-powered technology.

The collaboration is developing the product in response to airport decarbonisation goals and will utilise a Ballard FCmove-HD+™ hydrogen fuel cell, with production beginning in 2024 and expected to enter service by the end of 2024.
