US DOE allocates nearly $25m to explore clean hydrogen for electricity generation

To fully realise the potential of hydrogen in decarbonising society, the US Department of Energy (DOE) unveiled on Thursday (May 19) nearly $25m to study hydrogen’s role in electricity generation.

H2 View understands the funding will be allocated to six different research and development projects aiming to support the advancement of clean hydrogen for electricity generation.

In doing so, this could provide a new avenue for hydrogen to decarbonise and create further demand for the clean energy carrier.
