A hydrogen-fuelled future for Denham, Australia today (7th May) became a step closer to reality with works commencing at its A$9.3m ($7.2m) community hydrogen power plant that is set to power 100 residential homes and decarbonise the electricity supply chain.

Believed to be the first time in Australia that a renewable hydrogen powered remote microgrid will be used in the community, the major development will feature a 704-kilowatt (kW) solar farm, 348kW hydrogen electrolyser and a 100kW fuel cell – all of which will be provided by Horizon Power.
