World Energy GH2 submits EIS assessment for its 250,000 tonne per year hydrogen project

World Energy GH2 (WEGH2) has submitted an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for Project Nujio’qonik, a commercial-scale green hydrogen project.

The project is planned for the Canadian west coast of Newfoundland and Labrador and is expected to be one of the world’s first wind-to-green-hydrogen projects at scale, delivering around 250,000 tonnes a year of hydrogen.

With production starting in 2025, the projects initial stages will reduce around 850,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions per year based on displacing the equivalent amount of energy generated from coal.
