Yokogawa to supply energy management system for Pilbara green hydrogen plant

Japan’s Yokogawa will supply an energy management system (EMS) for ENGIE and Mitsui’s green hydrogen project in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

The Yuri Green Hydrogen Project, headed up by ENGIE Renewables Australia and Mitsui & Co. joint venture (JV) Yuri Operations, plans to integrate an 18MW solar power plant, an 8MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) and a 10MW electrolyser to produce 640 tonnes of green hydrogen per year.

Hydrogen produced from the Yuri project is planned to be used as a feedstock at Yara Pilbara Fertiliser’s adjacent ammonia plant.
