Yunnei Power secures $138.7m contract for hydrogen energy storage project

Local Chinese media has reported that Yunnei Power has announced it has won a CNY 1bn ($138.7m) contract to support what could be the ‘world’s largest’ hydrogen energy storage project.

According to Yicai Global, the company will design and produce a fuel battery power generation system for CCCC Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, and oversee the engineering, procurement and construction contract of the hydrogen project in Huai’an County, Hebei province, China, a region under the city of Zhangjiakou.

Yunnei will transport, install and test the products for the project which is expected to generate 200MW of power and store 800MWh of energy for the northern region to reduce its carbon footprint.
