El Paso Electric to implement a hydrogen roadmap through new agreement with Mitsubishi Power Americas

A new joint development agreement (JDA) between Mitsubishi Power Americas and El Paso Electric will create a hydrogen roadmap as part of an effort to achieve a carbon-free energy mix by 2045.

With the joint development agreement aiming to attain an 80% carbon-free resource mix by 2035 ahead of the proposed 100% carbon-free energy mix by 2045, hydrogen will play a vital role in reaching these targets.

The agreement will see both companies develop a hydrogen vision and roadmap for El Paso to generate carbon-free energy across its overall power generation fleet.
