Green hydrogen production will be a key aspect of a new agreement revealed today (Nov 17) between Haldor Topsoe and Green Fuel that will see the development of scalable technologies for green ammonia.
Formalised with a memorandum of understanding (MoU), green hydrogen will be bolstered in Iceland to ensure that the production demands are there to effectively produce green ammonia.
According to Halder Topsoe, green ammonia will pay a key role to decarbonise several hard to abate sectors such as shipping, heavy goods transportation and agriculture.
This cements green hydrogen as a key technology to scale with it providing several different avenues to create clean fuels.
The partnership will benefit from Topsoe’s development of cutting-edge technologies within green hydrogen and ammonia that will enable the optimisation of the production of both fuels.
Tore Sylvester Jeppesen, Senior Vice-President at Topsoe, said, “Iceland offers large-scale volumes of the renewable power needed from its vast hydro and geothermal resources, and we see an exciting potential for the production of clean fuels.”
